Lesson 2 of 10 · 3 min

Add a product

What it is, what it costs, its photos and who sees it: everything that puts something on your shop page.

  1. Products → New product

A product is anything you sell. Press New product and the editor opens with its sections down the side: Description, Product details, Price, Sizes & options, Photos, Goes well with, and Checkout & visibility.
  2. Description

Under Description, say what kind of thing it is: Food & drink, Clothing & shoes, Health & supplements, Beauty & make-up, Home & gifts or something else. Then a name, a tagline for the card, the story for its own page and a category. The kind only picks what I suggest next; it never limits what you can add.
  3. Price

Under Price, set what it costs. A Was price shows struck through beside it, for a sale: £18.00 instead of £24.00. Sizes or colours can each have their own price, under Sizes & options.
  4. Photos

Save, and you land on Photos: a main photo for the card and up to ten more for its page. Square photos look best. Photos go up as soon as you pick them; they don't wait for Save.
  5. Under Checkout & visibility, choose who sees it: On my shop page, or Only with its link, for something made for one customer. Stopped selling something? Archive it: it leaves the shop, and its orders keep working. Only a product nobody has ordered can be deleted.
